I attribute 90 percent of the money I’ve made online to the simple act of blogging. I know, some people just don’t get it.

They don’t just see how writing posts on pages makes money, but it does.

If you’ve bought anything online, there’s a 50-70 percent chance you read about it on a blog first, and maybe you clicked one of the links on the blog that took you to the product page and thus you bought the product.

That link you clicked that took you to the product page is likely an affiliate link owned by the blog owner. And they got paid a commission for the product you bought.

That’s just one of the numerous ways people make money through blogging.

My blog is undoubtedly one of the most valuable tools in my marketing arsenal. I’ve been blogging for so long, I don’t think I can do without it.

It’s probably the center of all my marketing efforts. It’s one of the best mediums I use to introduce new people and new customers into my business.

It’s the perfect tool for bringing awareness to a new business.

I can’t do without a blog. I simply can’t.

One of the first things I do when starting a new business is to start a blog about the business.

It’s already second nature for me. Most of the time, even before setting anything thing up about the business, I’m already blogging about the business.

It’s one of the best means to create awareness for whatever you’re trying to create awareness for.

So, here are 4 main reasons why you need to start a blog

1. A chance to gain organic traffic

Blogging is the best means of driving organic traffic from search engines to your business page.

If you just open a simple website where you advertise and sell your products or services, you’re going to get some traffic to it eventually even if you don’t start a blog.

However, you stand a better chance of landing traffic from search when you write blog posts about your products and services.

In fact, you increase your business footprint online when you start blogging.

Blog posts rank higher in search than product pages.

So if you want people to find your business when they search for information on Google, all you’ve got to do is create a blog page on your website, and just start writing about your business, and the different products or services you offer.

If you write those posts properly and you do even the most basic form of SEO on the blog, those posts will start ranking organically, and they will drive visitors organically from search engines like Google and Bings into your business.

Believe it or not, organic traffic from search engines is very valuable for any type of business you’re running. And if you blog properly on your website, you stand a very high chance of landing clients and getting a lot of business directly from these search giants.

2. Educate your customers

Another reason you want to blog is to educate your customers about whatever is going on in your business.

If you release a new update to your product, or you created a new product line, whatever it is you’ve done or are doing, and you want your customers to know, writing a simple blog post is one of the best means get word out quickly, and get your customers up to date about what’s going on in your business.

3. Can Be Monetized

Even if you don’t sell any products or offer any services, a blog on its own can still be monetized through various channels.

As long as that blog is getting decent amount of traffic, you can make money from it.

All you’ve got to do is register it on Adsense, Mediavine or any of these Ad publishing companies. They’re review your blog, and see if it qualifies for their program.

If your blog gets accepted, they’ll inform you, and help you set up ads on your blog. They’re start displaying ads on your blog for visitors, and you’ll start making money every time someone visits your website and simply views these ads.

Most blogs you visit online have these ads running on them, and they make money from it.

I’m currently a Mediavine publisher and they have ads running on one of my blogs, and that makes me money regularly.

Depending on the amount of traffic your blog gets, you can be earnings hundreds of dollars per month, or even thousands of dollars.

4. Grow brand authority

Another reason you want to start a blog is to grow your brand authority online.

The truth is, the more you blog, the more content you have about your business in form of blog posts online, the higher the chances of people coming across your business online, and the more you seem legit to other businesses and potential customers.

When you write blog posts about your business, as time goes on, other businesses and blogs come across these posts, and if they like the content in there, they link to it in their own blogs.

The more links you have from other business blogs to your own blog posts, the more authority your blog has in the eyes of other businesses, and most importantly Google, and that makes Google and other search engines rank your posts higher in search.

Higher search rankings means, more visibility, more traffic and more revenue generated for your business.

So, another crucial reason why you need to start a blog for your business is to grow your brand authority.

It makes it easy for other blogs to mention your business in their own blog, and that is extremely important for your business.
