Still Waiting To Feel Motivated Enough To Change Your Life? (A Letter For Procrastinators)
Most of us have been waiting and are still waiting for the perfect day, the perfect time, the perfect feeling, the perfect frame of mind and the perfect conditions to take some of the most important actions that will change our lives.
At least, that’s how procrastinators think and feel. Tomorrow, I’m going to do it. I’m going to do it in the evening, when everybody is asleep. Let me just watch this movie, or play this game, then after, I’ll do it.
We always see ourselves doing it in the future, not now.
Why? Because we think in the future, we’ll feel better about doing it. We think conditions will be more perfect. We believe we would have satisfied all other fleshly gratifications that we have, and then we would have no other option, that to do that thing, that thing that is even more important than every other thing we have to do now.
We always look to the future, thinking it will have perfect conditions for us to take the most important actions in our lives.
The future.
Well, the truth is that, our future will never be better if we don’t do the things we need to do today.
Conditions will never be better unless you do the painstaking tasks today.
You’ll never feel more motivated because the more you put things away for the future, the more you feel weary about doing them, the more you kick yourself because of guilt about not doing them, and the more you wear yourself down, over one or more tasks that you can do now, really feel good about yourself, and plant the seeds for a brighter future.
Look! Whether you choose to procrastinate or not, you’re always doing something. You’re always planting seeds that you’ll have to rip tomorrow. The question is, what type of seeds are you planting.
Are they the type you’d like to rip tomorrow? It’s very important that you ask yourself this.
I’m a writer. I do love writing, but it’s not every time I feel like writing. Some days I feel like shit, and I don’t want to do anything other than lie down on my bed and scroll through YouTube shorts, or just Netflix and chill while lying on my bed.
But, the truth is, my writing is connected to my income. The more I write today, the more money I make in the future, and the less I write today, the less money I make.
So, it’s left for me to decide. I don’t have to write all the time. I’ll still make money, because of what I’ve written in the past.
But, hey, money is never enough, even for the richest people in the world. So, who am I to stop working?
Guy, stop procrastinating. Nobody’s coming to save you. Your future depends on what you do today.
Take control of your future, by doing all the things you don’t feel like doing today. Do them now.
