Many people today have turned their love of cooking into 6 figure businesses online. One very good example of such is Pinch Of Yum created by Lindsay.
On her about page she said “What started as a casual hobby over 14 years ago in 2010 while I was working as a fourth grade teacher has now grown into a full-blown business (!!) that reaches millions of people with fun recipes each month”.
Lindsay is someone who turned how love of cooking into a full-blown business that turns in thousands of dollars monthly.
It’s just a simple hobby, you may say. But with the right steps taken, you can turn most hobbies into a business that can change your life just like Lindsay.

Cooking
I know I started with this. I’ve talked about Lindsay that turned her love of cooking into full-blown online business that has changed her life.
If you’re a good cook, you can do the same.
One thing you must note is that, none of this is going to happen overnight. If you read carefully what Lindsay wrote in her about page, she started Pinch Of Yum around 2010. It’s 14 years as of this year 2024.
I’m not saying you need 14 years to build something like what she has built. But don’t just work for 3 months and say it’s not working.
I wrote an article recently titled “Have A 5-Year Plan”. You should read it.
You can turn almost any hobby into a profitable online business, with a good plan, and enough discipline to stick to the plan.
Van Living
Van living is one hobby I’m currently interested in right now. I know it’s a way of life for some people.
There are people out there that really do live in a van for years. To others, it’s a hobby. They do it for fun. They go camping in the van and live in it for days. Maybe a few weeks.
You want to make money from living like that? Document everything. Document your van build, document your living in it. Just document everything.
There are so many people out there who will watch and follow you. I follow some of these people myself, even though I don’t have a van or live in one.
Gardening
When I was very young, I didn’t like going to the farm with my mom. My mom liked gardening. She planted all kind of veggies.
I didn’t like it then. But now, I love gardening, and would gladly do it as a hobby as soon as I have the time and space to do so.
If you like gardening, and you already planting one, then write about it, document what you do.
The more you write about it, the more you document what you do, the more following you grow online. And as soon as you have the following and the traffic, there are so many ways you can monetize that and make money from it.
Fine Art
Art is one of those things that intrigues people the most. Whether you paint images, you mold or sculpt images out of different materials, you can profit from it by putting all your work online.
You don’t have to have some fancy art gallery. The internet is the biggest art gallery you could ever have.
And here’s the beauty of it all. It has more means for you to make money. Once your work is online, on Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and so on, you have more means to make money than you have when you just have a physical location without your work being online.
Here’s another beauty of putting your art on the internet. You can make money even without selling the art.
On the internet, if you have a decent following, you make money from sponsorships, in-content ads like platforms like AdSense, affiliate recommendations, course selling and so on.
Photography
Photography is still an art form, but I like to think of it as very distinct and separate kind of art form.
As long as you have a phone with a pretty decent camera, you can get into photography as a hobby.
Most of the new iPhones and Samsung phones have very good cameras you can use to take amazing pictures.
If you’re very good at this, you can turn it into an online business. You can write, make videos and create content about photography.
And you can even sell courses about photography.
There are many examples of people doing this online and making a lot of money. If you have a knack for taking and editing pictures with your phone or digital camera, you can turn that into an online business.
